Source: Linux Today DistroWatch Weekly: "VectorLinux (VL) is a decade-old Slackware derivative and VL 6.0 is loosely based on Slackware 12.1. I say loosely because most of the packages have been upgraded or rebuilt. VectorLinux developers seem to have two goals in mind: to create a distro that is very user-friendly and to optimize it for speed and performance wherever possible, all while retaining the reliability of Slackware."

Gmail, by comparison, is slow and lacks any desktop integration. In a perfect world, Evolution would sync with Google's PIM apps. Unfortunately, there aren't any good, easy-to-use, comprehensive guides for setting up Evolution to sync with all of these apps -- until now."
